Arts Administrative Summer Internship

Purpose of the Position:   Support the mission, vision and values of Lundstrum Performing Arts. Positions pays a modest stipend to provide work experience through support of Artistic Management of a performing arts center.

Primary Functions / Duties and Major Activities:

  • Provide administrative support for Artistic Director

  • Produce correspondence and mailings for Arts Team

  • Facilitate teacher communications regarding rehearsals & production (costuming, etc)

  • Provide production & event communication, documentation, and support to Registrar and Marketing & Communication Specialist for distribution

  • Develop & update Arts Department templates

  • Assist in creating & implementing Arts Department folder management system & procedures

  • Other duties as assigned by the Artistic Managers & Development Director

Qualifications: Ability to work in a professional, collaborative environment. Must be comfortable with the mission of Lundstrum Performing Arts.

Required:

  • Current college student with relevant coursework in nonprofit management, communications, theater arts

  • Strong writing, editing, and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to meet deadlines and work independently when necessary

  • Must be dependable, dedicated, reliable, and have a positive attitude

  • Strong time management skills – self-starter who can take direction

  • Appreciation of the arts and their impact on young lives

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, Excel

  • Possess the ability to recognize and maintain confidentiality

  • Available to work approximately 10-20 hours per week (flexible)

Preferred:

  • College juniors and seniors

  • Experience with costuming and alterations
