Lundstrum Scholarships
Since 2000, Lundstrum Performing Arts has had a robust scholarship program creating arts access for students with demonstrated financial need for any reason. We turn no child away from our programming due to financial circumstances because we are committed to meeting families at their level of need in order to access the lifelong benefits of quality performing arts training.
Since 2000, the organization has:
Served 10,000+ students in its musical theater training programs
Has awarded over 3,000 scholarships to students valued at $1,000,000+ to ensure access to all.
Currently, nearly 30% of Lundstrum students rely on scholarships and financial assistance to attend classes at a pay-what-you-can rate. We provide scholarships to guarantee our programming is accessible to all and available to any child that wants to experience the transformative power of the performing arts.
Because of its commitment to access, Lundstrum’s budget subsidizes a large percentage of the scholarship program, as well as our partnerships serving North Minneapolis students. In fact, the Lundstrum Scholarship Fund covers the cost of training a child (compared to subsidizing only the class fee), totaling $300,000+ per year.
The scholarship application is part of Lundstrum’s regular application form, making it easy for families to apply. Once an application is received, families are contacted about a specific aid amount according to their need.

This program was made possible with funding from Hennepin County Youth Activities Grant and the administrative support of the City of Minneapolis Arts & Cultural Affairs Department.
