Lundstrum Performing Arts draws on the talents of New York's Broadway artists as teachers and performers. Lundstrum strives to be a world-class training center for aspiring Broadway artists. Master instructors from New York and Nationally touring shows conduct workshops at Lundstrum several times a year. These are great opportunities for students to supplement their training and make connections with Broadway performers.

Industry Kids Dance Workshop with Emily Nies

Ages: 10-16
Prerequisite: Open to performers ages 10–16 who are actively involved in the Twin Cities theater community or have prior musical theater performance experience.

Train with a professional musical theater performer and take your audition skills to the next level!

Designed for dedicated young performers ages 10–16 who are active in the Twin Cities theater community, this high-energy workshop gives students the dance training they need to shine on stage and in the audition room.

Learn the foundations of Jazz, Ballet, Tap, and Hip Hop while building the confidence and technique every musical theater performer needs. Students will strengthen their dance technique, learn essential dance vocabulary, and develop the skills to pick up choreography faster.

Taught by a professional musical theater performer, this workshop offers real-world insight into what directors and choreographers are looking for. Students will receive practical training, industry tips, and hands-on coaching to help them walk into every dance call feeling prepared, confident, and ready to stand out.

Led by Emily Nies, this class blends dynamic jazz technique with the fluidity and emotion of lyrical dance. Whether you're looking to deepen your artistry, strengthen your technique, or simply experience the joy of movement, Jazz Lyrical offers a welcoming space to grow, express, and connect through every step.

A graduate of Pace University, Emily spent years dancing, performing, and teaching in New York City, including on faculty at the renowned Broadway Dance Center. She has returned home with a passion for sharing her professional experience, inspiring artistry, and energizing the next generation of dancers.
